I got legged once while on the move last night, because I spent to much time harassing a lance of mechs and didn't use my cover. It can't be stressed enough that running in a straight line isn't enough, weave, use cover, all those things a light should do.

The locust was/is a good reminder of the basic principles of light piloting, like the OP says- just keep running, turning, twisting, etc. It is more unforgiving than the other lights, which are already unforgiving of too many mistakes. Granted, I only played one night with it, but I think the locust is fine.
